RortiX, a brand under Dreame which focuses on aerial intelligence and the low-altitude economy, debuted its eVTOL prototype at the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) in Shanghai on Thursday.

The event provided a glimpse into the advanced engineering driving the future of aerial mobility and the low-altitude economy.

The expo, running until Sunday, featured RortiX’s launch of its global aerial intelligence solutions. Highlights included a GPS-independent “blind flight” demonstration of its AI-powered flying robot, a 4-billion-yuan ($58 million) low-altitude industry fund, and the establishment of a joint research lab with Tsinghua University.

RortiX’s eVTOL prototype, a spotlight of the expo, integrates autonomous flight with automotive-grade safety, replacing manual piloting. “Our system’s multi-AI collaborative decision-making allows for safe navigation in complex urban settings, akin to an experienced pilot,” Deng Jie, executive president of RortiX, said. Initial applications will focus on emergency rescue and high-end logistics, with plans to integrate into urban traffic networks, making low-altitude commuting as accessible as ride-hailing.

Deng emphasized its potential to replace humans in hazardous tasks, conduct reconnaissance in signal-dead zones, and evolve into intelligent service carriers.
